Dundee United launch probe after Funso Ojo incident as club issue statement

Dundee United have launched an investigation after Aberdeen star Funso Ojo appeared to be shoved by a fan at Tannadice.

The midfielder was shown a second yellow card by referee Bobby Madden after an incident near the Eddie Thompson Stand during Saturday's Premiership clash.

Chasing a ball, Ojo's momentum carried him onto the pitchside track where he was then allegedly pushed by a home supporter.

And now United have confirmed they have launched a probe into the matter.

A club statement said: " Dundee United can confirm that an investigation has commenced into an incident during today's game. We will make no further comment at this time."

United boss Tam Courts said he wasn't surprised to see Ojo sent off.

He said: "No. I wasn't surprised to see him get a red card. I didn't really see it to be completely honest but there were just so many things going on on the pitch at that particular time and it needed me to be focused and clear.

"I was just starting to think about half time. Make no bones about it. We were here for three points and three points alone today."

United clinched a 1-0 win over Stephen Glass ' side thanks to a late Ian Harkes goal.
