Dundee United 'demand' VAR summit as Tannadice club want action after weekend of chaos

Dundee United are reportedly set to demand a summit with the SFA, SPFL and Premiership clubs after being left furious with VAR in their draw with St Mirren.

The technology has been a regular source of controversy since its' introduction in October and Saturday's games saw no shortage of drama. United gaffer Goodwin, Motherwell's Stuart Kettlewell and Kilmarnock's Derek McInnes criticised the technology this weekend while the offside lines drawn in Rangers' win over 'Well raised eyebrows on social media with Kris Boyd slamming it as 'etch a sketch.'

Goodwin was left furious as his side dropped points due to a penalty given for an alleged foul by Loick Ayina on Curtis Main which he felt was soft. It's all reached breaking point with fans, pundits, players and managers growing increasingly frustrated with the handball rule in particular a source of confusion since the technology was brought into the Premiership. And now the Scottish Sun report that United are set to take the first step towards a rethink by demanding an 'urgent' summit with clubs, the governing bodies and referee chiefs to address the issue.

It's claimed they will lodge a formal VAR complaint within the next 24 hours alongside a demand for clubs to sit down with authorities and air their concerns. It's reported that at the root of Tannadice concerns is a belief that the technology is impacting areas of the game which clubs were told it wouldn't and they want immediate action.
