Dundee United boss Micky Mellon joins ENTIRE coaching staff in Covid-19 isolation

Dundee United have asked boss Micky Mellon and his entire coaching staff to self-isolate following a Covid-19 outbreak.

The Tannadice club revealed on Wednesday that three non-playing staff had returned positive coronavirus tests.

And while no further cases have been confirmed, United have announced Mellon and his backroom team will quarantine as a precautionary measure.

Academy coach Thomas Courts and other youth team staff will take United 's stars - who are due to face Livingston away on Saturday - through training over the next two days.

A club statement said: "Following recent positive COVID-19 tests for non-playing staff and ahead of further discussions with the Scottish FA and Tayside Health Board, we have taken the precautionary decision to ask all our first-team coaching staff to self-isolate.

"Academy head of tactical performance coach Thomas Courts and other academy staff will guide Thursday and Friday’s training sessions.

"Pending further discussions with the Scottish FA and Tayside Health Board, we will make no further comment at this time."

Under the recommended 14 day isolation guidelines Mellon and his staff could also be absent for Rangers ' visit to Tannadice on December 13.
