Dundee United and Livingston have both appealed Peter Pawlett and Jack Fitzwater’s red cards from their weekend clash.
The Premiership pair have now challenged referee Nick Walsh’s orderings off from the Tannadice clash and are seeking for them to be overturned.
United came out as 3-0 winners but a lot of the headlines were made up by the dismissals.
United’s sporting director Tony Asghar and manager Micky Mellon have both reviewed match footage and have backed their midfielder’s view that Pawlett shouldn’t have been ordered off.
Pawlett was sent off by referee Nick Walsh for a first half challenge on Jason Holt.
Mellon said; “I’m too far away to be honest. But I looked at the reaction of the players and it was a bit aghast.
"A hands in head moment. The two benches looked at each other and were surprised as well. I will try never to criticise referees because it’s a tough job.”

Livingston defender Fitzwater was sent off late on in the Tannadice clash for a late, last-man challenge on Ian Harkes.
Livi boss David Martindale believes that decision was harsh.
He said: “I didn't expect a red card for either of them. For Jack's, I turned away to make a sub and it was actually big Jack who was coming off.
"I don't know if they were red card offences. But if Nick's got them wrong he's honest enough to let us know.”
Both cases will be heard by an independent appeals panel for the Scottish Football Association later this week.
