Dundee Stars bosses have warned away fans not to buy tickets for their next five upcoming matches at home - because they will be turned away even if they have paid for the briefs.
New Scottish Government coronavirus restrictions mean indoor events have a maximum seating capacity of just 200 people.
This accounts for just eight per cent of the Dundee Ice Arena's 2,400 seat capacity - severely limiting the Stars' ability to make enough money from each fixture to survive.
Tickets for the ice hockey team's next three games go on sale tomorrow. Ahead of the ticket office opening, the team has warned fans thinking of travelling to Dundee to stay away, and watch the game remotely instead.

The team said on Twitter : "As per Scottish government restrictions 200 tickets will go on sale online tomorrow at 12pm, for each of our next 3 home games!
"Tickets sales are strictly for HOME FANS ONLY, away fans will be refused entry as only one side of the DIA [Dundee Ice Arena] will be open!"
The tickets, priced at £20 each and limited to a maximum of four per purchase, are only available to buy directly through the Stars' website, dundeestars.com/tickets.
Unfortunately for season ticket holders and anyone who has bought tickets for the upcoming games previously, only the stubs released tomorrow and early next month will be valid for entry to each match.
However, the team says season ticket holders can either get a refund for the remainder of their pass or carry the matches forward into a discounted 2022/23 voucher instead.
Anyone with pre-existing tickets for the five upcoming matches can have them re-allocated to a future game once restrictions have eased by emailing commercial@dundeestars.com.
The club insists that the new ticketing regime is a short-term measure designed to help keep it financially healthy amid newly introduced Covid restrictions.
It also wants to discourage fans from travelling and risking catching or spreading coronavirus.
Tayside recorded 695 new cases of Covid-19 on December 29 and the seven-day average for positive tests is the highest it has been since the pandemic began last year.
For away fans hoping to catch the action live, passes to an online livestream can be bought through the Dundee Stars website for £15 a pop.
Speaking to the Dundee Stars TV YouTube channel, coach Omar Pacha said: "It's been tough, the last month or so, with the new variant that's been tough on everybody.
"For ourselves as a club there's been challenging moments.
"With the newest restrictions we had some talks, some long chats, but it's great we're all in the same mindset to push through these extremely difficult periods of time and we're going to have plans as place to get as many people watching the streams."
Steve Ward, club director, has thanked fans in advance for their understanding of the temporary change to the ticketing scheme.
He said: "Hopefully people can take a bit of time out to hear what we've got say and understand it.
"We've spent an awful lot of time putting this package together to see us through to the 16th because we're going to have to play in front of a restricted audience."
The affected matches are home games against the Fife Flyers on January 3; Nottingham Panthers on January 5; Cardiff Devils on January 9; Glasgow Clan on January 15 and Nottingham Panthers on January 16.
The Scottish Government says it will review the measures on January 11 to assess whether they are still needed to contain the Omicron variant of Covid-19.
