Players at Dundee have been asked to agree to wage cuts amid growing concerns regarding club income.
The Courier report that the proposal would see the Dens Park stars' salaries slashed by up to 30 per cent.
The players must respond to the requests next week.
It comes as Dee managing director John Nelms issued a plea for fans to purchase season tickets as he revealed the club have sold around 10 per cent of their usual uptake.
Assistant Jimmy Nicholl and sports scientist Cammy McDermid left the club too as the impact of coronavirus on the clubs' finances takes hold.
Dundee have suffered a revenue drop of around £500k after the poor start to season ticket sales.
And with the Championship season not due to kick off until October 17 it has led the pursestrings being tightened at Dens.
Nelms said: "If you have the means, the wherewithal and are intending to buy a season ticket it would certainly help if that was done sooner rather than later.
"That helps mould everything that we’re doing. It’s the biggest budget income item that we have every year.
"It really is going to help bolster the club.
"But I know it’s a difficult time. If you can, please help. If you can’t, we understand. There are bigger things in the world than what we’re doing.
"We will find a way through this but we absolutely need everybody’s help to do it."
Dundee lost out on a chance to earn promotion to the Premiership when their decisive vote ended the Scottish season.
