Dundee have approach for former Hearts boss John Robertson rejected

Dundee have been told to look elsewhere for their new manager after Inverness rejected their approach to speak to former Hearts boss John Robertson.

The Dens Park club are in search of a new boss after Jim McIntyre left by mutual consent following their relegation from the Ladbrokes Premiership, and want Robbo to replace him reports the Daily Record .

The Hearts legend led Inverness to the Scottish Cup semi-finals where he faced the Tynecastle side.

They also reached the Championship play-offs, where the Highlanders were knocked out by another former Hearts boss Robbie Neilson, losing 3-0 on aggregate to Dundee Utd.

The Arabs’ rivals believe Robertson is capable of getting them back up based on his performance this season, but have been rebuffed by Inverness.

It’s unclear whether they will try again or move on to other targets.
