Dundee FC Hall of Fame inductee receives surprise birthday present

One of Dundee FC’s most popular foreign imports has received a surprise birthday present from the club.

Dariusz Adamczuk’s family got in touch with Dark Blues bosses to arrange a shirt to be sent to help him celebrate his 52nd birthday last week

And they didn’t hesitate to get involved - sending the crowd favourite a home shirt in time for the party at his home in Poland.

A post on the Dundee FC twitter feed said: “Happy Birthday to Hall of Fame inductee Dariusz Adamczuk who turned 52 yesterday.

“His family were in touch with the club to arrange a shirt from this season to be delivered for his birthday #thedee

Supporters were quick to wish Dariusz happy birthday and sing his praises.

Gordon M wrote: “What a player. His last-minute header in the derby is right up there with Nemsadze chip in my favourite dee moments.”

LesBarrShuffle added: “He scored at Wembley v England I seem to remember.... he's a legend for that alone.”

While Eric Allan said: “He's Dariusz the pole. He runs about. He scores a goal. He's Dariusz the pole. Always gave 100%.”
