The first Dundee derby in three years will be watched by a capacity crowd at Tannadice.
Dundee United fans have already bought more than 10,000 tickets for a game that is more than a week away.
There are just a few left for the home sections and they are expected to be sold by Thursday.
Dundee’s allocation of around 3,200 are also due to go ahead of the Scottish Championship clash a week on Friday.
That means every seat available will be gone as the city rivals battle it out in front of 13,400.
The last time the two sides met in the league was a Premiership clash at Dens Park in May 2016, the game in which Dundee won 2-1 to famously relegate United.
On a night of high drama, Dees came from behind thanks to goals from Kane Hemmings and Craig Wighton.
