Dundee craft brewer secures first Scotland-wide store listing with supermarket

Dundee-based 71 Brewing has secured its first retail after striking a Scotland-wide deal with Lidl.

The brewer's Large Hadron Pina Colada Pale Ale and Luminous Lights New England IPA have been specially made for the discount supermarket. The listing comes after 71 Brewing beers featured in Lidl’s Isle of Ale Festival in Scotland in 2018, followed by promotions across UK stores this year.

Paul McQuade, Lidl head of buying in Scotland, said: “Scotland has a hugely diverse craft beer offering and we are especially proud to be supporting 71 Brewing with their first retail listing. At Lidl, we strive to provide customers with a quality range of locally made beers and are committed to supporting our nation’s brewing talent through promotional listings as well as our popular Isle of Ale craft beer Festival.”

The new beers will join Lidl’s line-up alongside an exclusive Double IPA from Broughton Ales and a number of seasonal additions including Fallen Brewing Chew Chew; Williams Brothers March of the Penguin; Orkney Red MacGregor and Loch Lomond Silky Stout.
