Locals hoping to make council tax and other payments at Dundee City Council's headquarters will have to wait a while longer to do so after the authority said it was not re-opening to the public in the near future.
The council says Dundee House's public areas for customer service and cash payments will not re-open on Wednesday as they usually would after the festive break.
It claims the decision has been motivated by the ongoing spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19.
Normally, the customer service area processes payments for council tax, rent, non domestic rates and other council charges such as fixed penalty notices.
Payments can still be made through the Dundee City Council website or via an automated premium rate 0845 phone number.
In a statement, the council said: "In light of the current Covid-19 situation, with cases rising and government guidance to help prevent the spread of Omicron, Dundee City Council’s Customer Services and Cash Office within Dundee House will remain closed to members of the public.
"This decision is not taken lightly, but is consistent with our continued desire to keep the public and staff members as safe as possible at this very challenging time.
"Our customers service team are still working on these dates and you can contact them or make an online payment."
The council has not said whether it will re-open the office next week.
