Dundee confirm SPFL resolution stance as Dens Park club decline to vote on season-ending measures and leave Scottish football in limbo

Dundee have confirmed that they did not cast a vote on the SPFL resolution,  Record Sport  understands.

A proposal was put to clubs to end the lower league seasons immediately, based on the tables as they stand.

It would also have given the governing body the authority to make the same call for the Premiership at a later date.

The motion was passed by top flight clubs, with 10 supporting and two against. One club was initially said not to have voted but it's understood Hearts did later vote against.

League One and League Two also backed the plans, which would see prize money paid out early and provide a financial lifeline to struggling clubs.

However, the proposals have not been adopted after Championship clubs failed to agree.

Seven clubs agreed to the plans with two against, while one club did not vote.

At least eight had to agree if the proposals were to be adopted.

Record Sport can confirm that Dundee did not cast a vote, and have confirmed as much to the SPFL.

While a deadline of 5pm on Friday was given, rules state that clubs have 28 days to respond.

Dundee did not vote, leaving the resolution in limbo.

An SPFL statement confirmed: "It is very important that clubs consider carefully the resolution and we are grateful to those clubs who have voted already.

“With the Ladbrokes Premiership and Ladbrokes Leagues 1 & 2 divisions each having approved the resolution, we await the voting slip from the one Ladbrokes Championship club that has yet to vote. We will provide an update as soon as we are in a position to do so."
