Dundee blood donation times changing at Ninewells Hospital

Bosses at Dundee’s blood donation centre have introduced an extra day for locals to give blood.

From June last year the service shifted back to Ninewells Hospital - a move that has been widely welcomed in the local communities.

It extended its Wednesday opening hours immediately and from August onwards donation centres began holding sessions on Sundays.

Over the last four months it has welcomed a staggering 2,786 donors from across the region.

As of next month, donors will also be able to give blood on Tuesday mornings - appointments are available to book online now.

Over the three days outlined below, the service is looking to accommodate 194 donors in total.

In Dundee, 1,254 donors gave blood for the first time in 2021 with 60% of them booking their appointments online

300 donors were between the age of 17-19-years-old and 60% of donors in Dundee are female.
