Dundalk want to ride the wave of positivity against UCD says Daniel Kelly

Daniel Kelly wants Dundalk to ride the wave of positivity and make it three wins in a week.

Kelly's hat-trick against Finn Harps secured a 3-0 win for the Lilywhites and it followed a fortunate win over Bohemians.

UCD in the Belfield Bowl provide the opposition this afternoon but Dundalk are without Brian Gartland and Robbie Benson, while Sean Murray is a doubt.

Another win would set up Dundalk for a crack at leaders Shamrock Rovers on Friday after an inconsistent start to the season.

"The fixtures coming up aren’t easy but the last two games have been good," Kelly said.

"We got a bit of luck against Bohemians but we dug in against Finn Harps and I think we got what we deserved.

"To get the clean sheet and the three goals is a bonus as well but I thought everyone was excellent on the night.

“Everyone dug in to get the result after a first half which was stop start with the lads getting injured but we got the goal just before half-time which was great for us."

UCD are without Evan Osam (achilles) while Conor Davis returned from suspension in the defeat to Bohs on Friday.

"It was my first since schoolboy football," he smiled.

"It wasn’t bad at all and the fans gave me a great reception. The fans have been brilliant since I came here.

“We’ll take that into Monday and next week and see where it takes us.

"They played some good stuff against us back in February so it’s going to be difficult but hopefully we can come out with a win, get another clean sheet and move on".
