Curiously, league leaders Dundalk haven't beaten Sligo this season. They had to be content with an opening night draw before losing 2-1 at the Showgrounds in April.
Back in Oriel Park tonight, the Lilywhites continue to ride the wave of their recent great run of results, more recently the late, late league wins over Bohs and St Pat's and the EA Sports Cup quarter-final defeat of UCD on Monday.
“It has been a brilliant run for us over the past few weeks, we've been in good form and we want to keep it going," said Dundalk supremo Vinny Perth.
"We want to push on and continue our form."
Striker Georgie Kelly, who was instrumental in the comeback win against Bohs, echoed Perth's view.
"We have got ourselves into form," Kelly acknowledged. "We're playing with confidence so hopefully we can keep the run going.”
“It was a good win for us on Monday evening. It is good to get into another Cup semi-final and we want to win more.
"But we haven’t had it easy against Sligo this year.
“They've been in good form themselves over the past few weeks, but we've been good at home so we will be looking to pick up the three points."
Perhaps wants 'fortress' Oriel to be the scene for another Lilywhites victory as they look to stay just ahead of Shamrock Rovers.
"We want to continue that good home form that we've had," he said. “It’s not going to be easy but hopefully we can play as close to the best of our ability and go win the game".
