Dundalk sign Norwegian striker Ole Erik Midtskogen

Dundalk have bolstered their attacking options by signing Norwegian striker Ole Erik Midtskogen - who scored against the Lilywhites in the Europa League qualifiers.

Midtskogen, 25, has joined from Faroese club KI Klaksvik, who Dundalk beat in October to reach the group stages.

He is the club's first signing of the close season, the news confirmed just before Dundalk's new Director of Football Jim Magilton holds his first press conference this afternoon.

Midtskogen had joined KI in January, helping the club to win the Super Cup and to make that Europa League play-off round.

“Ole’s characteristics as a player will really fit into our style of play and to the League of Ireland,” said Dundalk head coach Filippo Giovagnoli.

“He scored a brilliant goal against us but it’s his all-round style and quality that has really impressed us.

“He is a big, physical player but he is also very technical and has the characteristics and the profile we are looking for. We believe we can help him develop and become a big addition at Dundalk FC."
