Dundalk set for trip to Derry as FAI Cup second round draw made

Holders Dundalk will travel to play Derry City in the tie of the FAI Cup second round.

The draw was made this evening and the Lilywhites - who knocked out Cobh Ramblers on Saturday - will have to do it the hard way to reach the quarter-finals.

There will be a non-league team in the last eight no matter what as Crumlin United have been drawn at home to Lucan United.

Drogheda United will bid to knock out Shamrock Rovers for the second year running but this time they must do it in Tallaght.

UCD will host St Pat’s in an all-Premier Division tie while Galway United will host last season’s beaten finalists Cork City who edged out Cabinteely on penalties on Friday.

Waterford will make the long trek to Donegal to face non-league side Glengad while Sligo Rovers host Limerick.

And Bohemians will entertain the winner of tomorrow night’s rescheduled first round clash between Longford Town and Athlone Town.

Ties will be played the week ending August 25.

FAI CUP, SECOND ROUND DRAW

Glengad v Waterford
Sligo Rovers v Limerick
UCD v St Patrick's Athletic
Shamrock Rovers v Drogheda United
Derry City v Dundalk
Galway United v Cork City
Crumlin United v Lucan United
