Dundalk's potential Champions League opponents in round three if they beat Qarabag

Dundalk qualified for the second round of Champions League qualifiers this week by defeating Riga on penalities.

The sides were level at 0-0 after 180 minutes and they needed extra-time and then penalties to split them.

Goalkeeper Gary Rogers and defender Sean Hoare were the heroes as the Lilywhites got the win and advanced to the next round.

There they will face Azerbaijani side Qarabag, who have qualified for the group stages of either the Champions League or Europa League for the past five years.

If - and it is a big if - Dundalk get past Qarabag, they will face one of the following sides in the third qualifying round: Ajax, Celtic or Nõmme Kalju, København or The New Saints, Dinamo Zagreb or Saburtalo, BATE Borisov or Rosenborg, APOEL or Sutjeska.

The draw for the Champions League third qualifying round takes place at 11am Irish time on Monday, July 22.
