Dundalk's Jordan Flores scores goal of season contender against Shamrock Rovers

Jordan Flores netted a sure-fire goal of the season contender in tonight's top of the table SSE airtricity League clash between Shamrock Rovers and Dundalk.

Flores' wonderstrike tied up a game that remained all square at half time.

Approaching the half-hour mark of a Rovers-dominated stalemate, in front of a league record 7,522 in Tallaght Stadium, they opened the scoring deservedly when Ronan Finn crossed from the right.

Dylan Watts swept the ball across goal but it was blocked by Sean Hoare.

But the ball went right back to Watts who coolly finished it into the empty net.

Minutes later, however, Flores unleashed one of the finest goals ever seen in Tallaght.

Michael Duffy’s corner goes went to the left of the box, about twelve yards from goal, and Flores swings the left peg acrobatically above head height and met it with a bullet connection, arrowed right into the top right.

The helpless Alan Mannus got a hand to it but it was struck too well.

A goal of the season contender for sure.
