Dundalk's Jordan Flores is among the nominees for this year's Puskas award for his spectacular goal against Shamrock Rovers in late February.
Meeting a cross from Michael Duffy, Flores' volley flew past Alan Mannus in the Hoops goal in Tallaght - but couldn't prevent a 3-2 victory for Rovers early in their successful title charge in the 2020 season.
The video clip of the goal went viral, with FIFA's official Twitter account sharing it and instantly naming it a potential candidate for goal of the year.
Publications across the world shared the clip, including Mundial Magazine, Goal and Spain's AS, and was shown on Match of the Day and Sky Sports.
"It's been a bit surreal really, seeing the clips on different pages, on Twitter all over the world," Flores said at the time.
"These are things I’ve been watching when I was growing up and to be shown on something like that is good. It's good to get that recognition."
Flores, 25, joined the Lilywhites from Wigan last year and will be involved in the club's Europa League group encounter with Rapid Wien at the Aviva Stadium tomorrow night (ko 8pm).
He is among 11 players shortlisted for the prestigious award that was won by Daniel Zsóri last year.

Public voting is open on FIFA.com and runs until 11.59pm on December 9, with the three finalists confirmed by FIFA on December 11.
The winner of the award will be selected by an international jury comprising a panel of FIFA Legends and by the fans from all over the world registered on FIFA.com . Each of the two groups of voters within the jury has the same electoral weight.
