Dundalk player ratings as Filippo Giovagnoli's side score two goals in Arsenal defeat

Dundalk made a great account of themselves tonight as their Europa League camapign came to an end tonight in a 4-2 defeat to Arsenal at the Aviva Stadium.

Here's how the Lilywhites rated in tonight's game:

Rogers 7 - Kept Dundalk in the hunt with good finger-tip saves to thwart Cedric - twice - and Maitland-Niles

Hoare 6 - Never got a moment's peace but played a key role in the Flores goal and scored himself late on.

Boyle 5 - Booked before seeing his clearance charged down for Nketiah’s opener and then hooked at half-time.

Cleary 6 - Tried in vain to hook Nketiah’s goal off the line but dished out two meaty tackles on the Arsenal striker.

Gannon 5 - Found it difficult to impact the game and hands were full with Maitland-Niles before going off.

Shields 6 - Skipper fizzed an early shot just over and spoiled a lot of Arsenal’s build-up play to good effect.

Flores 7 - Puskas award nominee scored his second goal in as many European games and then assisted Hoare’s.

Leahy 6 - Back in the side after missing out on a Cup final start and almost equalised before the break.

McEleney 7 - Made things happen and was always thorn in Arsenal’s side with clever use of the ball.

Duffy 6 - Lovely one-two with Flores for Dundalk’s first but needed a better delivery for McMillan breakaway.

McMillan 6 - Needed one goal to become the league's record scorer in Europe but forced off with a hamstring injury
