Third on debut in Cork back in September, the selection finished fourth to Soaring Sky on his polytrack debut and, last time, was beaten four lengths into second spot by the impressive and potentially smart Isle Of Sark, with subsequent winner Ferrybank third.
That form, and a rating of 81, sets the standard here against Oh Say (rated 75) and Cisne, second here on debut last week, with the market likely to provide a guide to the prospects of Joseph O’Brien’s newcomers.
The O’Brien-trained Dances With Stars was called a few names after his most recent defeat, when beaten a half-length by Glorious Zoff here last Friday.
But the 76-rated colt still possesses the best form in the second division of the Irishinjuredjockeys.com Maiden and is given another chance to end his frustrating sequence of near misses – he’s filled the runner-up berth on his last three starts.
In the handicap action, Blastofmagic, successful off a 1lb. higher mark at Navan back in June and a promising third to Hodds Girl over five furlongs last time, should go close in the six-furlong finale.
