Dundalk dealing with Covid cases ahead of Euro clash with Newtown but game to go ahead

Dundalk have been forced into last minute changes ahead of tomorrow's Europa Conference League clash with Newtown due to several Covid cases that have emerged.

Lilywhites boss Vinny Perth insists the Oriel Park clash is not under threat but the situation has forced a personnel and tactical rethink for the encounter with the Welsh club.

The players had PCR tests done yesterday and the results have only come through in the last few hours, with Perth describing the situation as a "minor Covid outbreak".

The rest of the squad trained as normal today.

Newtown have had their own Covid-related problems in the run-up to the fixture, with four of their players missing the trip.

Sligo Rovers, who are also in action tomorrow, were forced to fly to Iceland yesterday without two first teamers - one tested positive for Covid while the other is a close contact.
