Vinny Perth believes Dundalk are right where they want to be after putting themselves into position to strike for the top.
Perth's Dundalk were 13 points adrift of Shamrock Rovers a fortnight ago, now they're only four adrift, and with a game in hand - albeit against Bohs, who are level on points with Dundalk.
"What we wanted to do was cement second and get into that position first and build, slowly but surely," reflected Perth after the Lilywhites' victory over Rovers last Friday.
"It’s a difficult league when you go Friday, Monday, Friday, Monday so there will be plenty of twists and turns.
"I’ve been here seven years and I keep saying it, in the middle of the season last year, at 10 past nine, we were one point clear of Cork - by half nine we were six points ahead of them.
"There's a lot of big moments change league titles, so we’re too early to be focused on other teams."

The reigning champions travel to Waterford tonight and Perth must decide whether to freshen things up or stick with a winning formula after three victories in a row.
“It’s very difficult when you play so well," said Perth.
"Who do you leave out and why? I thought we were a bit more like ourselves against Rovers. So we won't know until we assess people’s fitness levels.
“I said to the players after Friday's game that Waterford is our biggest game of the season, because it’s our next game.
"It’s a difficult venue, the recovery time is difficult. It is what it is, it's the same for every other team."
Kenny Browne, Kevin Lynch, Dean Walsh and Karolis Chvedukas all remain on the injury list for the Blues, who earned a scoreless draw at Bohs on Friday.
