Firefighters are continuing to deal with a large fire at a waste recycling facility in Belfast.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service were called to a recycling depot on Duncrue Pass at 10.12pm last night following reports of a blaze at the property.

Police closed the Duncrue Link Road while the fire crews dealt with the incident and the road remains closed this morning.

The fire has been brought under control but six appliances remain at the scene.

At the height of the blaze, eight appliances, one aerial appliance and a support vehicle were in use.

The fire service is asking members of the public to avoid the area and for local residents to keep their windows closed.

"There are currently 6 pumping appliances and specialist vehicles in attendance. The fire has been brought under control.

The public are asked to avoid the area and also keep windows and doors closed.
