Duncan Watmore scores twice to open his account for Middlesbrough

Former Sunderland midfielder Duncan Watmore scored twice last night as Middlesborough defeated Swansea City.

Making just his second start for the club, the 26-year-old scored either side of half time - netting his first goals in over a year.

Watmore left the Stadium of Light in the summer after the expiration of his contract.

Injuries plagued his time on Wearside, but he's hoping to get back to his best under Neil Warnock.

Speaking to Boro's website, Watmore said: ""It feels great, I've put in a hell of a lot of work during lockdown and isolation, and I've come through a lot with my injuries.

"I feel like my body is in a really good place.

"It's a cliche, but the main thing is that we got the win tonight. It's a great group of lads and they were superb today - it's a joy to play with them."
