Duncan Ferguson sends heartwarming message of encouragement to Everton fans

Duncan Ferguson has sent a heart-warming message to Everton fans as self-isolation due to coronavirus continues.

The Blues squad and staff have all been advised to stay away from Finch Farm training complex and the club's offices at both Goodison Park and the Royal Liver Building after a first team player showed symptoms consistent with COVID-19.

Carlo Ancelotti confirmed earlier this week that the player in question was feeling better after reporting a high temperature last week, with the Premier League later deciding to suspend the top division until at least April 3 after an emergency meeting.

With many individuals and families across the country undertaking self-isolation and social distancing measures to combat the pandemic, Ferguson has posted a brilliant message via Everton's official Twitter account.

He said: "To all Evertonians out there, Duncan Ferguson here.

"As you can see I'm shattered, I've just been for a run. Got to keep ourselves fit in these difficult times.

"Just to let you know, all you out there self-isolating or on your own or with your families - we'll get through this. Somehow we'll get through it.

"Keep strong, God bless."

The Premier League are set for further discussions over the phone on Thursday to plan for the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign, with Everton once more to be represented by CEO Denise Barrett-Baxendale in those talks.
