Duncan Ferguson's first Everton press conference confirmed

Duncan Ferguson will hold a press conference on Friday afternoon ahead of him taking charge of Everton's game against Chelsea this weekend.

Ferguson has been installed as temporary manager following the sacking of Marco Silva whose 18 month reign was brought to an end earlier tonight.

The 47-year-old has stepped into the breach and will be in the dugout at Goodison on Saturday lunchtime as the Blues welcome Frank Lampard's Chelsea.

Ferguson has been a long-standing member of the backroom staff at Everton under a succession of managers and now gets the opportunity to lead the team on a caretaker basis.

Everton say they will appoint a permanent boss "as swiftly as possible" but for now, the man affectionately known as Big Dunc, will manage the Blues.
