Duncan Ferguson reveals Everton injury list and expectations for Manchester United clash

Caretaker Everton boss Duncan Ferguson has confirmed former Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin is among his injured contingent for this weekend's game.

Theo Walcott is also out of the Old Trafford Sunday afternoon contest between United and Everton, both of whom are currently being coached by legendary former strikers.

Ferguson heavily played down the Toffees' chances of a win against a United side who have recently hit their straps under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but have struggled to beat teams in the lower reaches of the table.

Both teams recorded morale-boosting Premier League wins last weekend, with Everton triumphing 3-1 over Chelsea in Ferguson's debut match and United stunning Manchester rivals City 2-1.

"We’ve only won one game in the last 20 odd years there [at Old Trafford] they’re in great form as well," Ferguson said in his pre-match press conference.

"Unfortunately they’re on the up at the minute, they’re on form and on the up but I’m sure we can give a good account of ourselves.

"I scored my first two goals there, I have a good record against Manchester United there, happy days."

The Scot then confirmed that both Schneiderlin and Walcott had picked up calf injuries, keep them out for two and three weeks respectively, while adding that "[he]’d be on the roof if we could get a win" at the Theatre of Dreams.
