Duncan Bannatyne tells Piers Morgan 'missing you on TV already' after Alex Beresford GMB row

Piers Morgan appears to be 'missed' by some since storming off the Good Morning Britain set following a row Alex Beresford.

It's been just over a week since Piers quit the show after he was taken to task by the Bristolian weatherman for his views on Meghan Markle.

Among the most high-profile people to show their public backing for the controversial presenter and ex-news man is Dragon's Den star Bannatyne, whose firm runs Bristol Health Club in Redlands.

Piers is not afraid to grill high-profile politicians on the show and Bannatyne told him this afternoon: "Good day Piers. I hope you are going to keep up your great work holding Governments to account.

"Missing you on TV already."

Piers responded: "Thanks Duncan, I appreciate that ... I'll definitely keep holding the Govt to account, don't worry."

The controversial presenter fronted the show for six years before the row over comments he made about the Duchess of Sussex.

ITV announced he left the show on the same day Ofcom said it will investigate his comments after the authority received 41,000 complaints.

An ITV spokesperson said: "Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain. ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add."

On Good Morning Britain on March 8, Piers said "I'm sorry, I don't believe a word she said" referring to the Meghan and Harry interview with Oprah Winfrey, where she discussed suicidal feelings.

Alex Beresford criticised him for continuing to "trash her" and described his comments as diabolical.
