Dunblane High School shuts after pupil tests positive for coronavirus

A Scottish school has been closed to all pupils and staff after a student tested positive for Covid-19 .

Stirling Council has taken the decision to close Dunblane High School temporarily as of Monday, March 16.

A deep clean of the school will take place immediately and, in the meantime, pupils and staff have been told to remain at home until further notice.

All other schools across Stirling will be open as normal.

The Council says it will continue to monitor the situation across all services and will provide further updates in due course.

Convener for Children and Young People, Cllr Susan McGill said: “We are working closely with the school to address this situation and hope to have the establishment back open as soon as it is safe to do so.

“We completely appreciate the uncertainty felt in the community during this unprecedented set of circumstances. Our focus is to bring you accurate, up to date information as soon as it is available.

“In the meantime, please continue to follow the guidance from the NHS and governments, available online.”
