Dun Laoghaire Harbour set to get €8 million National Watersports Campus

Dun Laoghaire Harbour is set to get an €8 million National Watersports Campus, it has been confirmed.

The application was made by Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, Irish Sailing, and Irish Underwater Council.

This will include a centre for watersports activities, a public slipway, and a high-performance coaching centre, afloat.ie reports.

There will also be a space to host international sailing championships, triathlon rowing, swimming, and canoeing.

The Government has also announced a €400,000 feasibility study grant from Large Scale Sport Infrastructure Fund (LSSIF).

There have also been plans to build accommodation for NGB and campus tenants.

The project is hoped to improve the harbour’s infrastructure and lead to improved access, job creation, and increase tourism potential, according to a group of stakeholders of the Dun Laoghaire Harbour.
