The duo behind Chinatown favourite Dumplings’ Legend will open a second restaurant on Monday (May 12), bringing dim sum and street food to Chancery Lane.
Geoff and Lucas Leong opened Dumplings’ Legend in 2010 and it quickly became one of London’s most popular places for dim sum and Chinese street food.
Perhaps best known for its xiao long bao, the restaurant even received a visit from King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla in 2015, such was its glowing reputation.
The Leong duo said their new concept will be “a bold reimagining of the original concept”, offering a “tech-led, fast-casual approach” to dim sum and Chinese comfort food.

Open for breakfast through until the evening, Love Dumplings’ Legend will bring classic xiao long bao, pork and prawn siu mai, char siu bao, as well as new dishes such as spicy duck dumplings and another variety filled with sea bass and fennel.
Beyond dim sum will be slow-cooked pork belly, Hong Kong curry fish balls, sweet and sour chicken, mapo tufu, curry beef brisket and kung pao chicken.
And for the first time, the team will be doing breakfast. Inspired by Hong Kong’s fast-casual cafes, the likes of warm congee, steamed buns, sausage plates and tea eggs will be served.

“We’re excited to embark on the next part of our journey, bringing a decade of knowledge on Chinese cuisine to the city,” said the Leongs.
“Love Dumplings Legend will offer continuously handmade dim sum, including Xiao Long Bao and signature dishes ready and steamed in less than 10 minutes. Our modern ordering technology will make this the tastiest lunch for pick up or eat in.”
The space has been designed by Design Haus Liberty. Food will be available via grab-and-go screens – as in fast food restaurants – as well as by way of conventional dining.
