Dumfries Veterans' Garden receives £500 donation from Castle Douglas Legion Scotland

Castle Douglas Legion Scotland Branch president Alan Murray MBE recently handed over a £500 cheque to chairman of Dumfries Veterans’ Garden chairman Tam Muirhead.

The Castle Douglas branch is the last Legion Branch in Dumfries and Galloway to have its own club.

Alan said: “This money raised by our members is to help veterans and their families from across the region who have issues caused by service life. The Veterans Garden does just that.”

Veterans Garden secretary Mark Harper and the council’s forces champion, Councillor Archie Dryburgh, were amongst those who witnessed the handover and showed Legion members around the garden.

They were impressed by what they saw.
