Dumfries Tesco shoppers raise cash for Alzheimer Scotland

Staff and customers at Dumfries Tesco Extra store have raised £342 for a worthy charity.

Anne Croucher, community champion at Tesco Extra at Cuckoo Bridge in Dumfries, was delighted to present a cheque to Mandy Cowan from Alzheimer Scotland Dumfries branch this week.

The cash was raised from entry donations and stall fees at the last Sunday car boot sale.

Anne said: “A massive thank you to everyone who pitched up as sellers and those who came to buy at the car boot sale for their support once again.

“It is good to be back and our next car boot sale is on Sunday and hope it will again be well supported. Proceeds will go to another local charity.

“The money makes such a difference to our local charities who work so hard.”

The car boot sale will be held on the supermarket car park. There is no booking for sellers who are asked to turn up from 8am, to have hand sanitiser on their stall and wear face masks. The charge is £5 per car and £10 per van.

It will then open to the public from 9am to noon and they are asked to make a donation on entry.
