Dumfries pubs ready to serve punters pints outdoors from April 26

Dumfries pubs will be able to serve alcohol outdoors come Monday.

And Ann Magee of the Riverside Bar is excited at the prospect of welcoming customers back to their beer garden at Dock Park.

She said: “We can’t wait for Monday, it just can’t come soon enough.

“I’m really, really looking forward to it. I just hope people come back. There’s been a lot of people making their own bars in their back gardens so we hope people still come back to their local.”

She added: “We’re looking forward to seeing all of our regulars. Quite a few of them are elderly gentleman and I’ve been calling them every week just to check in on them and see how they’re doing.

"Some people will have been isolated throughout this so it’s good to check in on them.

“We’re really looking forward to Monday.”
