Dumfries Men’s Shed officially opened its new base this week.
The building at Cresswell Gardens was actually taken over, through a community asset transfer, in February last year.
However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, members were only able to move in and carry out work in the site recently.
And the final piece of the jigsaw was put in place on Monday when the shed was officially opened by MSP Emma Harper.
Chairman Ken Sheirs said: “We’ve only been in for a few short months this year when we’ve been able to tidy up the place.
“It’s been a huge battle, a long and arduous time for us. We had hoped to be in by spring last year but we’ve been delayed until now.”

There are spaces for games, a workshop, a large kitchen and a library in the new shed.
The group is also looking for new members to join them.
Ken, 73, added: “We’ve contacted former members and put things on Facebook for new members because of people moving away and quite a lot of deaths of older members.
“ It would be good if we could get some younger members too as a lot of us are in our 60s and 70s and it’s not quite as easy to do things.
“There are a number of rooms which can be let out to the community too. Dumfries Men’s Shed own the building but we are open to the community using the space.
“Hopefully we’ll make a success of it because it is open for the community.”
