Dumfries man Keith Brown is hoping to raise mower and mower money as part of a massive fundraising drive this week.
Keith will become The Mowerman as he pushes a lawn mower around Dumfries for 50 miles to raise money and awareness for Dumfries and Galloway Care Trust.
The local enterprise provides 32 weekly real life work placements in gardening and woodwork projects for disabled adults in Dumfries and the surrounding areas.
The trust requires minibuses to transport attendees and money raised from the sponsored walk, which started on Tuesday and finishes on August 29, will go towards the new vehicles.
Trustee Keith said: “Like all charities the last 18 months have been difficult in many ways. As we now move forward and carefully open up our project as safely as possible we are reaching out to local individuals and businesses asking if they would partner with our charity in whichever way they can.
“As we work primarily in the community we need to have dependable minibuses to transport our attendees as well as their equipment. Our present minibuses are more than 10 years old and need to be replaced as soon as possible which doesn’t come cheaply.”
He added: “As a charity we receive some funding from the health and social care partnership to provide daily placements which provide social inclusion, training, mental and physical health benefits as well as daily respite.
