Dumfries Lions Club donates commemorative bowl to Dumfries Academy to mark Platinum Jubile

Dumfries Academy Lions Dumfries (Geopolitical Entity)

Dumfries Lions Club has donated a commemorative bowl to Dumfries Academy to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The bowl will be now be awarded annually to a junior pupil who has made an outstanding contribution to the local community – either through voluntary service or other good work.

Club spokesman, John MacColl, said: “We are very pleased that Dumfries Academy accepted our invitation to accept the presentation bowl, which will be known as the Dumfries Lions Club Award Bowl, to mark this very special occasion.”

The three other secondary schools in Dumfries have also been offered the opportunity of a commemorative trophy and the Lions are waiting to hear back.
