Dumfries Ice Bowl to host Scottish Curling Championships in 2022

Dumfries Ice Bowl is set to host another major curling tournament next year.

The Scottish men’s and women’s championships will both be held at the venue.

Scottish Curling announced on Wednesday that the tournaments would be heading to the town in February.

The venue has hosted World Mixed Doubles and International Ice Hockey Federation events in the last decade.

A statement from Scottish Curling said: “There is plenty of hard work going on behind the scenes to ensure that the Scottish Curling men’s and women’s championships return better than ever after the disappointment of the event cancellation in 2021.

“With the event now taking place in the arena, curlers will have the chance to experience competing in an environment similar to that of international championships.

“The move to the arena will also allow Dumfries Curling to offer the unique opportunity for visitors to try the sport in the curling rink during the championships through Try Curling sessions, corporate events, away day matches and much more.”

The two competitions will take place from February 21 to 27, 2022.
