Dumfries Guid Nychburris photo competition winners receive their awards

The winners of the 2022 Guid Nychburris photo competitions have picked up their awards.

Nearly 100 photos were submitted and judged by members of Loreburn Camera Club.

The winner of the senior section was Amanda Sumner who captured Lynor William Black “hands free” on Buccleuch Street at the Guid Nychburris parade.

And the best entry in the junior category came from four-year-old Autumn McDonald who captured Cornet Ross Findlater at Burns Statue on the riding of the marches on Saturday, June 18.

Both Amanda and Autumn were invited to join Cornet Ross and Cornet’s Lass Robyn Peden at the Guid Nychburris executive committee meeting where they were presented with their trophies and Guid Nychburris rosettes.

The Guid Nychburris committee appreciate the support of many who entered the competition and thank the Loreburn Camera Club members who had the difficult job of judging the entries.

New trophies were purchased this year as part of the 90th anniversary celebrations of Guid Nychburris, the categories were split into senior and junior sections.
