Dumfries fundraiser smashes £500 target for Dumfries and Galloway Baby Loss Awareness Group

A Dumfries fundraiser smashed his target after taking on a 25km challenge.

Scott Blair, 34, set a target of raising £500 by walking 5km a day for five days for Dumfries and Galloway Baby Loss Awareness Group.

He completed the feat on Sunday in an eye-catching outfit courtesy of wife Jade’s wardrobe.

Jade, 29, said: “He decided to do his last walk in one of my full-length ball gowns and his face was covered in full make-up.

“He walked from Heathhall into Dumfries and through the town and back.

“He put it on Facebook live and he had people watching from all over the world.

“The fundraiser is just shy of £600. It’s incredible.”

Scott, who suffered head injuries after a lorry crashed into their car four years ago, was inspired to take up the challenge due to a close family friend.

Jade added: “For him to be doing this after four years is just fantastic. He is always trying to push himself.

“Lynsi Mills is a family friend and she lost her son Harison. Scott is doing it for them and all of the group at Dumfries and Galloway baby loss group.”
