Dumfries firefighters joined people up and down the country in showing their appreciation for key workers with a round of applause last Thursday night.
The sound of people clapping and the skirl of bagpipes is now common in towns and villages at 8pm every Thursday as a mark of respect for frontline staff during the coronavirus crisis.
