Dumfries couple Bill and Jean Jardine celebrated their Diamond Wedding anniversary on Monday.
The pair were married in 1961 in the town’s St Mary’s Church and were then piped across the road to the reception in the Cairndale Hotel.
Bill and Jean met at the former Nithsdale Hotel which Bill frequented for a drink on a Saturday night.
Jean, who hails from the Orkney Islands, came to Dumfries with her mother to work in the Nithsdale Hotel.
Bill served his time as a builder with Fergie Waugh before running his own business.
The couple have lived at many addresses around the town as Bill renovated them and Jean ran them as B&Bs or hotels.
Their two most well known establishments were the Cargenholm and Dalston Hotels.
They now have three children, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
They would both like to thank everyone for their good wishes and gifts.
