Petrol heads are in line for a bumper Dumfries motor show later this month.
The popular event, called Cars in the Park, takes place for the fifth year on the trot at Park Farm showground and will be a slightly smaller extravaganza than previous shows due to the pandemic.
Administrator Katrina Wilson said: “There are reduced numbers this year because we were unsure about how the lockdown easing would be and what restrictions would be in place, so usually we have more cars, vans and trucks.
“It normally took place the week after the Dumfries Agriculture Show, but this year it is on Sunday, August 29 and is a little shorter from 3.30pm until 7pm, but we still expect a good crowd because it is a popular event for car fans and others.
“There should be a couple of thousand people coming from all over. We get people coming from as far as Glasgow.
“In the past there have been crowds of up to 4,000, especially when we had the monster trucks. Everyone loved them, it is such a spectacular show.
“This year, there will be a motorbike stunt show, the usual food stands, bouncy castles for the kids and wee cars for the children to drive.”
She added: “The show is the idea of my husband, Andy, and a lot of work goes into it.
Tickets cost £5 for adults and it is free entry for children.
