Appeals have been made for donations of Easter eggs in Dumfriesshire during the next few weeks.
A collection box has been placed in the Tesco Extra store at Cuckoo Bridge for chocolate treats for residents in care homes.
Anne Croucher, who kick-started the appeal with 100 eggs from Tesco, said: “We would really love to be able to give an Easter egg to every single one of the residents who are in care homes in Dumfries.
“They have had a really tough time through the pandemic and this would be a lovely treat for them.

“We would be grateful for any donations of Easter eggs and anyone who wants to donate one can put it into the box situated inside the store.”
Meanwhile, Amy Thomson and colleagues at James Hallam Insurance Brokers in Dumfries is appealing for donations of eggs for the patients and staff on the children’s ward at DGRI.
Amy said: “We are getting the town involved to help hand over as many Easter eggs as possible to the children and hoping to have enough for all the staff as a thank you, too.”
Westsound Cash for Kids also has an Easter egg appeal for underpriviledged children across Dumfries and Galloway. They have a collection point in the Dumfries Morrisons.
