Dumfries and Galloway whisky firm aims to help golden eagles with commemorative bottles

Dark Sky Spirits founders Nick and Erin Bullard are hoping to raise £1,000 for the South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project through the sale of commemorative bottles of whisky.

The couple have made just 200 bottles of their Moffat Eagle Festival limited edition 15 year old blended malt.

Erin said: “We are looking forward to the festival in Moffat this month and are in awe of the South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project.

“We wanted to help and are so excited to be able to create a whisky that celebrates the beautiful landscape, rich diversity and warm welcome of southern Scotland.

“Our aim is to raise £1,000 for the South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project through the sale of these commemorative bottles. Preservation of land and wildlife is something we care deeply about and this bottling is our way of putting our money where our mouth is.”

Erin added: “We are already getting a good response and if anyone wants to buy a bottle and support the charity they need to be quick.”

The company, named after Moffat’s status as Europe’s first dark sky town, is due to open its new distillery next spring and will operate what it claims is Scotland’s only direct wood-fired still.

The special bottles can only be bought online at https://darkskyspirits.com/
