Dumfries and Galloway sees biggest coronavirus case increase for nearly three months

The region has seen its highest increase in coronavirus cases in a single day for nearly three months.

Seven people in Dumfries and Galloway have tested positive in the last 24 hours, taking the region’s total since the pandemic began to 340.

It’s the biggest rise in one day since June 19, when 10 people tested positive

NHS Dumfries and Galloway revealed on Thursday it is handling a “cluster” of cases in the Dumfries area.

Across Scotland, a further 267 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed since yesterday, taking the tally since the start of the pandemic to 23,283.
