Three pals are taking on a golfing challenge this weekend to raise money for a charity close to their hearts.
Gregor Renwick, Chris Coates and Andrew McDougall will spend the day playing 72 holes at Colvend Golf Club for Macmillan Cancer Support’s Longest Day fundraiser.
And they’re hoping to raise hundreds of pounds in the process.
Gregor, who lives in Dalbeattie, said: “At the start of lockdown we were playing a lot of Xbox because there wasn’t a lot else to do. The three of us set up a streaming channel on Facebook and called ourselves the 3King$.
“We always said when we passed a certain number of followers we would do something for charity.
“Andrew’s dad came through oesophageal cancer last year and had major surgery and is now recovering and myself and Chris have both lost family.”
Gregor, Andrew, who lives in Palnackie , and Chris, who now stays in Edinburgh, will set off on their bid on Saturday morning and will be streaming their efforts online so people can watch.
And the attempt to play 72 holes in one day isn’t the only challenge they’re facing.
Gregor explained: “The mobile signal for streaming isn’t the problem, it’s the battery but we’ve got a few powerbanks so hopefully we’ll be okay.
