Dumfries and Galloway Eco Warriors looking for volunteers for beach clean at Rascarrel Bay

Volunteers are being sought to help clean-up a Stewartry beauty spot.

Dumfries and Galloway Eco Warriors’ next beach clean will be at Rascarrel Bay which, they say, is in a “terrible state”.

The clean will start at 11am on Sunday, June 20, and people should meet promptly at Auchencairn Primary to convoy down to the Rascarrel Farm barrier.

It will be manned by one of the volunteers so that only cars heading to the beach clean are allowed, so anyone arriving later won’t be permitted to take part. Access near the chalets is not allowed.

People should bring their own lunch, snacks and wear suitable clothing. Litter pickers will be provided, although anyone who has their own should bring it along with gloves.

This is a relaxed litter picking group so people are able to walk at their own pace, stop for breaks and have lunch when they like.

Anyone who has a trailer that can help run rubbish from the bay to the pick up point should get in touch via the D&G Eco Warrior Cleans Facebook page.
